How to capture your families at home. (Covid-19)
I’ve shared how to capture your newborns at home - at the start of Coronavirus (Covid-19), global pandemic, I offered a DM chat service to help you get to grips with your at-home baby photography. I hope some found it useful!
I’d also like to help you capture family pics of your loved ones at home right now. This is a historical time and it should be captured. If I can’t be there to capture it you can still do this!
Here are three tips to photograph your people while cooped up at home with your smartphone.
1. Find a room with good natural light and make sure to turn off all overhead or artificial light.
2. Ask your subject NOT to look at you but instead to look up or to the side. This usually allows your subject to relax a bit.
3. Ask your subject to move in some way to create an interesting capture. Jump, dance, spin, are all great ways to encourage movement.
I wish I could be photographing your family right now and I will be geared up and ready to take your professional photos when this is all over. But that doesn't mean you can’t make some great images until that day comes. Create your own memories, make some positive ones and document your days.
Happy to answer any questions you may have, feel free to send me a message.
Oh, and forward to a friend who is also cooped up at home (like us all ) and would love these tips!
See you soon.
